Our Teachers
Kadam Ethan Lechner became Kosala Center’s Resident Teacher in 2019. A practitioner of Kadampa Buddhism since 2008, he has traveled extensively throughout the world for teachings and retreat with Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso and the tradition’s most senior teachers. Ethan is a native of Alabama and originally came to this area to get his PhD in ethnomusicology. These days he works part time as a therapist and enjoys playing piano. Ethan is appreciated for his warm, humorous, and relatable style of teaching Dharma.
Nancy Fox has been practicing meditation and Buddhism in the Kadampa tradition since 2017, in Chicago, Bloomington, IN and now at Kosala. She has been a volunteer at those centers and currently is the Education Program Coordinator at Kosala. Nancy is finding a new passion in teaching Buddhism and meditation and loves to share her experiences with the Kosala Sangha. Retired from teaching yoga, she enjoys creative pursuits such as gardening, ceramics and basketry, as well as continuing her studies in Kadampa Buddhism in the Foundation Program.
Ann Gerhardt found Kosala Center in 2012 searching for a community to meditate with. She found much more than that and has been actively studying and learning from Kadampa teachers since then. She lives in Chapel Hill and spends time with her young grandchildren. She has worked in public health and as a professional leadership coach. She is part of the Kosala Center’s Foundation Program and brings together all of her experience in her light, and practical teaching.
